Nicolae Ceausescu (1918-1989), Romanian politician. Ceausescu was a rowdy youth and quickly branded a “dangerous communist agitator”; after several offenses he was captured and incarcerated in Doftana Prison for two years when he was eighteen. During his second period of imprisonment, Ceausescu met and became the protege of Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej who he would later succeed as Communist leader of Romania. Ceausescu ultimately became a villain of history, implementing a brutal regime and cult of personality. But damn was he fine as a young man.
