Raoul Wallenberg - came from a very rich & privileged background and for a few months in 1944, while serving as Sweden’s Special Envoy to Hungary, saved the lives of tens of thousands of Jews by naming buildings to be Swedish diplomatic property for shelter and distributing Swedish passports. He was arrested and taken for questioning by the Soviets in January 1945 and was never seen again, although stories circulate about him being hidden in Soviet prisons for years.
