These two handsome young guys were also cold-blooded psychopathic murderers.  Nathan Leopold, Jr. (LEFT - November 19, 1904 – August 29, 1971) and Richard Loeb (RIGHT -June 11, 1905 – January 28, 1936) were a duo of killers who attempted to commit the perfect crime by kidnapping and stabbing a teenage boy named Robert “Bobby” Franks in 1924.  “Leopold and Loeb” as they were collectively known, were both wealthy sons of prominent Chicago families.  Each was a brilliant student and child prodigy, so much so that they believed they were “Nietzschean supermen” whose superior intellects entitled them to ‘kill for the thrill’ and evade capture.  Both were caught after Leopold’s eyeglasses were found at the scene of the crime, linking the two to the murder.  After a sensational trial, which became the most sensational media circus of its day, both were convicted and sentenced to life in prison.  Loeb would later be stabbed to death in prison by another inmate.  Leopold was paroled after 33 years in prison and moved to Puerto Rico, where he died of a heart attack in 1971.
