My main man, Desiderius Erasmus.
You may know him as the author of “The Praise of Folly”, or perhaps as the mentor of Martin Luther (95 Thesis), he was a famous humanist, and also best buds with Hans Holbein the Younger.
Ever since his wonderful profile graced my AP Euro class, I’ve been a huge fan. I also take my Erasmus/Luther rivalry very seriously.
