Rosa Luxemburg (1871-1919)  Jewish Marxist born in Russian Poland, active in the socialist movement in Poland, Russia, and Germany.  Was an early adherent to the revolutionary wing of social democracy, and enthusiastic (though critical) supporter of the Russian Revolution.  Was one of the founders of the Communist Party of Germany in 1919 and helped lead an attempted revolution in Germany.  Killed by the proto-fascist Freikorp. Also damn sexy.
