Thomas Story Kirkbride (July 31, 1809 - December 16, 1883) was the founder of the Kirkbride Plan, an architectural layout for 19th century mental institutions. His intentions were purely for the greater good, and he was a strong advocate of those with mental illness. He is such an inspiration to me, and he is my history crush!
