Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben. Revolutionized Washington’s continental army. He didn’t know too much English, so he often swore at his troops in a mixture of French and German. When that didn’t work, he often called for his translator “Over here! Swear at him for me!”  A very awesome man, very close to my heart.
