This is the Marquis de Lafayette (1757-1834)! He was born in France and orphaned when he was 12, but that didn’t stop him. He joined the Royal Army when he was 14 and when he was 19 he defied the French king’s orders and went to help in the American Revolution. Everyone loved him, even George Washington! After the war, he went back to France and played a role in the French Revolution as well.
