Lee Miller was a woman ahead of her time. She ran away to New York at age 15 to become a dancer. She serendipitously met the founder of Vogue, Conde Nast, when he saved her from being hit by a car. She became a fashion photographer. But when she became bored with that, she moved on to Paris. She became the lover of Man Ray, a surrealist. She began studying photography with him and soon surpassed him. She left him to return to New York, and left him wandering the streets of Paris, screaming her name.
Lee did many things in her life and I can’t say them all. She was a great war correspondant in WWII, photographing D-Day and the concentration camps. She was married to an Egyptian Nobleman and hung out with Picasso. Oh, she was also a grade A badass and one of the most beautiful women in history.
